Red-Green Color Blindness Test Lines | Two Docs' Color Vision Tests → twodocs.com

Since we’re talking about red-green color blindness, I thought I’d post these tests to assess if you see color normally. I had no idea there were so many types of color blindness, but I guess it makes sense. I had also been under the impression that color combination to avoid was basically traffic-light red and green. Not so. The combinations to avoid are much more nuanced. It’s worth bookmarking these tests to remind yourself when creating an image not to use these variations of red and green when coloring contrasting parts of a diagram. Color blindness has been estimated to affect 7-10% of men, so it’s not something to ignore.

The Beautiful Mind - Slide Show - NYTimes.com → nytimes.com

Sorry for the long delay in posting! Holiday time…

Let’s get back on track with a gorgeous slide show from a new book titled, “Portraits of the Mind” by Carl Schoonover. Schoonover is a Ph.D. student who was captivated by the imagery in his field: neuroscience. So he decided to share those images with the world in a new art book. The mind is a beautiful thing (recruit more scientists)!
